Ingredients | Qty |
pizza dough (homemade or store-bought) | 1 piece |
Shishito Peppers | 200 g |
Tomato sauce | 1 cup |
Crumbled feta cheese | 100 g |
Mozzarella cheese | 1 cup |
Olive oil | 2 tbsp |
Garlic clove | 1 piece |
Fresh basil | 1 cup |
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 220 °C (428 °F). This will ensure that the pizza dough cooks evenly and becomes crispy.
- Wash the shishito peppers and pat them dry. In a large skillet, heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the peppers and minced garlic, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender and start to brown slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
- If you're using homemade dough, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. If you're using store-bought dough, follow the package instructions to prepare it.
- Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza tray or a baking stone. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the dough and evenly distribute the tomato sauce. Then, add the mozzarella cheese, sautéed shishito peppers, and sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese on top.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Once out of the oven, garnish the pizza with fresh basil leaves, and cut it into slices.
