You may wonder, what is trellising?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trellising is a technique that aids in the growth and development of plants by supporting them with some form of material, guiding their vertical growth and keeping them upright without touching the ground.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is it importan to implement trellising in our crop?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some benefits of implementing this technique:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It provides great support and comfort to the plant, resulting in healthier growth and higher- quality production.&nbsp;<\/li><li> It increases yield by promoting better plant development&nbsp;<\/li><li> It allows for better pest control.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It facilitates pruning and harvesting.&nbsp;<\/li><li>It improves air circulation and light penetration for the plants&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There are different techniques for trellising, and here are some of the most common ones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Single or individual: This technique involves supporting each plant with and individual stake using a string or similar material to secure the plant. The stake should be inserted approximately 10 - 20 cm from the plant\u00b4s base<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mesh Trellising: Also knows as espalier mesh, it is secured with two posts along the row, creates a trellis. It can be installed in various ways using different materials and should be positioned 20-30 cm above the ground&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A-frame trellising: This technique involves using two supports that cross and join at the top to form an A-frame structure.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The choice of trellising technique depends on several factors such as the specific crop, available space, environmental conditions, and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, don't forget to research and determine the most suitable trellising technique to implement for your crop.
